As well as installing gas fires and gas cookers, we can also supply them if needed. We carry out repairs and servicing to keep your appliances safe and in good working order.
At Flamesafe South West Ltd we can not only install or commission your gas fire, but we are able to carry out your annual service too. It is recommended that you get your fire serviced on an annual basis.
Reasons to get your gas fire serviced:
We often forget about our gas fires, as they are not used as often as our boilers, but it is equally important that we make sure that all fires are safe and free from producing carbon monoxide.
What we do on a Service:
Before we begin to work on your fire we always make sure that we have suitable protection to your home we use dust sheets and carpet protector. When we service the fires we visually inspect the whole fire for any defects or cracks, we carry out the necessary gas pressure tests and fully clean the appliance to remove any dirt. We will carry out tests on the flue system visually and physically via a flue flow test and then a spillage test. On completion we make sure the fire is working correctly and efficiently, all coals or radiants are placed in their correct position according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Supply and installation:
As well as servicing and repairs to gas fires we can also supply and fit a wide range of fires and have many brochures to choose from, whether its a modern inset fire you would like with remote control or a radiant fire we can supply to all needs. We also provide an install and commission service if you have already bought your gas fire.
Gas Cooker, Oven and Hob Installation
If you’ve bought a new cooker, or want to replace your existing hob, our Gas Safe Registered engineers can install your appliance for you.
Trying to install a cooker can be hard work and without the right knowledge, things can go wrong.
Did you know that all gas cookers need to be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer?
If you don’t have the Gas Safe certification, it could invalidate your household insurance.
Here’s what we’ll do:
Evaluate your kitchen and make sure the existing gas connections are safe to use and meet the legal requirements.
Disconnect the existing cooker, un-box and check the new product.
Connect to an existing gas pipe and verify that the gas supply is gas tight.
Test the cooker to make sure it’s working and ready to use to the manufacturer’s specification and industry standard.
